Our ten step system for wooden floor sanding and restoration

A meticulous approach refined over decades of experience.

  1. Initial Preparation

    We ensure all nails and screws are counter sunk beneath the surface, removing all dirt and grit between boards for a pristine foundation.

  2. Board Inspection

    Thorough check for loose boards and secure where necessary, ensuring a stable base for restoration.

  3. Primary Sanding

    Using our dust-free belt sander, we begin at a forty-five degree angle, straightening gradually until the floor is even and indentations are removed. Multiple grits ensure perfect progression.

  4. Edge Work

    Specialist edger application reaches areas inaccessible to the belt sander, ensuring consistent finish throughout.

  5. Corner Detail

    All corners are meticulously sanded with a triangular sander for complete coverage.

  6. Edge Blending

    Orbital sander application carefully blends the edges with the rest of the floor for seamless transition.

  7. Fine Finishing

    Rotary machine with multi-hole pad achieves the smoothest possible finish, preparing for treatment.

  8. Initial Treatment

    Primer application followed by first coat of finish, allowed to dry for 24 hours for optimal results.

  9. Surface Preparation

    Rotary machine used to key back the floor, creating the perfect surface for final finishing.

  10. Final Finish

    Application of the final coat, completing the restoration process to the highest standard.
